On February 14th Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Public Health held a round table meeting “Status and perspectives of medical education in Ukraine”. A February 11th series of lectures gave instructors, dentist interns, and 5th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry an opportunity to listen to leading dental industry experts. TSMU Indian students talked about their country with a local TV channel

Last week students of Ternopil State Medical University took part in the program “Morning with TTB”. They talked about customs, culture and features of their country. Parth Sabya Sachi, Priyanka Tyagi, Pramvir Rathee and Varsha Kashyap shared with Ternopil audience their impressions of India, told how Indians celebrate their national holidays, and how the students keep their traditions while studying at Ternopil State Medical University. Ternopil State Medical University signed a cooperation agreement with the Center for Child Support (Poland)

On 9 February 2017, Renata Blecha, President of the Center for Child Support (Fundacja pomocu dzeciam) in Żywiec, Poland met with rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda to discuss areas of cooperation. Center for Child Support is one of the largest and best-equipped facilities in Poland and Europe. It employs over 80 experienced professionals (speech therapists, developmental-delay therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitators, psychologists, etc.) that assist 300 children with special needs. Ternopil State Medical University students had practical clinical training in Poland

Fifth year students of the Faculty of Dentistry Anna Chykyta, Katheryna Mashkova, Valentyne Kuzminska and fourth year students Svitlana Perytiatko, Pavlo Ostrovskyi and Yurii Shanaida recently returned from a clinical training in Poland, where they spent two weeks improving their medical skills in Wrocław clinics. On February 1, 2017 Ternopil State Medical University held a teaching conference titled Topical issues of training students at the Center for simulation training: lessons and prospects. The conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the University. Ternopil State Medical University is launching a double graduation program

On February 1, 2017 a delegation from Graduate School of Health Sciences Collegium Masoviense (Poland), met with TSMU rector Mykhaylo Korda to discuss directions for future collaboration. TSMU Nigerian Students’ Association has elected a new president

Nigerian Students’ Association in Ternopil State Medical University has elected its first ever female president, a fifth year student Ahuruonye Sharon Ogechi . She received 70% of votes. Sharon’s opponent for this office was TSMU student Aganren Daniel Omegban. Notably, Nigerian student community is one of the largest groups of international students of Ternopil Medical University. TSMU choir preformed traditional Ukrainian carols for students and staff

For the second year in a row Ternopil State Medical University choir wished everyone happy New Year and Merry Christmas performing a concert of traditional carols. The choir includes lecturers and students, who rehearse for months leading to the winter holidays, and then visit TSMU and other organizations to sing and collect donations for charitable causes. Christmas celebrations took place 25-27 December at the Theater Square , location of the main tree of the city. During this joyful event followers of Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox churches joined the celebrations as part of the national action “Ukraine and the world celebrate Christmas together.” This was a family event, which also attracted many young people. TSMU students brought holiday gifts for the charges of Maliatko children’s home

On the occasion of St. Nicholas’s Day fourth year students of Ternopil State Medical University, along with their supervisor, assistant professor of pharmacology Iryna Moseychuk, visited regional children’s home Maliatko, to share holiday spirit with the kids.
