TSMU choir and Art-drama theatrical studio presented a new program of carols

TSMU students took part in the International Reconstructive Heart Surgery Conference

The second International Conference Reconstructive Heart Surgery held on November 23-24, 2017 in Kyiv, gathered leading cardiac surgeons from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Greece, Georgia, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova, and Romania. Prominent specialists discussed new technologies in cardiac surgery. Students of Ternopil State Medical University worked at regional hospice

For two and a half months, students Ternopil State Medical University had been carrying out a volunteering mission in Ternopil Regional Hospice.  Oksana Kushneryk, third-year student of the Faculty of medicine served as a coordinator of this long-term charitable project. In the hospice, the doctors-in-training assisted its medical staff in caring for patients. They fed the patients, talked to and the elderly, looked after them, and overall tried to get involved in all hospice procedures. Several national educational events took place on October 20, the Ukrainian Day for Fight against Breast Cancer. Ternopil State Medical University students supported action, organizing a public awareness campaign informing Ternopil residents about this disease and methods of its prevention. TSMU students gifted medical equipment to a training and rehabilitation center

Ternopil State Medical University students enthusiastically participate in charity actions, helping those in need of support and attention. Associate professor of the Department of Philosophy and Social Studies Taras Kabodnyi together with Ukrainian and international students have organized a university-wide volunteer movement MISERICORDIA. Its Latin name can be translated as a kind or compassionate heart. Victor Shemchuk, President of the National Federation of Water Motor Sports of Ukraine in his letter addressed to Ternopil State Medical University, thanked TSMU students for their participation and volunteer work during the European Championship of Water and Motor Sport . For several years now Ternopil State Medical University has been involved in the citywide International Day of University Sport, aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle and popularizing different sports activities among young people. New generation of medical students begins their training at TSMU

The excitement was palpable in Ternopil State Medical University on August 31, 2017 when the new cohort of medical students became matriculated. The student family welcomed 965 first-year students, as well as 122 young people who had transferred from medical colleges. Perhaps even more excited were international students. Over 80 first-year students have already been enrolled to TSMU. These young people come as far away as India, Pakistan, Poland, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt. Ternopil State Medical University students organized events for the World No Tobacco Day

Each year TSMU students organize and participate in events dedicated to tobacco control. On May 31 of this year our students together with representatives of the regional Health Center and Red Cross Society volunteer corps (many of whom are also TSMU students) gathered together by Ivan Franko monument  in Ternopil to urge passersby to quit the harmful habit of smoking. The 60th anniversary of Ternopil State Medical University was an important occasion, calling for a number of events, each of which was carefully planned and prepared ahead of time. TSMU students showed good results in the National Olympiad on infectious diseases

Recently Odessa National Medical University hosted the National Olympiad on infectious diseases. Ternopil State Medical University team consisted of fifth year students of the Faculty of Medicine and winners of the first round of the competition Aliona Lukianchuk, Taras Kolesnyk and Oleh Pliuvak. A total of 43 students represented 15 Ukrainian universities. Ternopil State Medical University students organized a public awareness campaign for World Tuberculosis Day

On March 24, 2017 on the occasion of World TB Day, students of Ternopil State Medical University organized a number of events to call attention to this problem. The doctors in training joined forces with the members of Red Cross Society volunteer squad. Administration of the Faculty of Medicine and Student Council of Ternopil State Medical University initiated on March 16, 2017 planting of 60 fruit trees on the grounds of Academic  and Recreation complex Chervona Kalyna. Renowned doctor Rostyslav Valikhnovskyi shared his knowledge with students of TSMU

Recently, as a part of “Your profession” project, Ternopil State Medical University students met with a renowned Ukrainian plastic and reconstructive surgeon, founder and head of the Medical Center ” Valikhnovski MD in Kiev Rostyslav Valikhnovskyi. Dr. Valikhnovskyi is a TSMU graduate. He is also vice-president of the Ukrainian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic Surgeons (ВАПРЕХ), a political and public figure. Outreach work of TSMU students

Recently, students Ternopil State Medical University who volunteer for the Red Cross, collaboration with the Youth Committee of Ternopil-Zboriv Archdiocese organized in Ternopil regional perinatal center “Mother and Child” a social event dedicated to the World Day of the patient. Young people aimed to give moral support to pregnant women on bed rest.
