TSMU professor of epidemiology and infectious diseases participated in the Annual Meeting of American Academy of Dermatology in Orlando, USA

Ternopil State Medical University scholar, Professor of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Svitlana Halnykina participated in the 2017 AAD Annual Meeting, which took  place 3 – 8 March 2017 in Orlando,USA. Rector’s Cup is presented to the winners of basketball tournament

Ternopil State Medical University supports athletics and encourages participation of students in sports competitions. On 14-16 March 2017, TSMU athletic complex hosted a basketball tournament for the Rector’s Cup, and dedicated  to the 60th anniversary of the University. According to the tournament’s organizer Ivan Kalka, competing for the grand prize were 15 teams , representing all faculties of the University. TSMU students planted an orchard

Administration of the Faculty of Medicine and Student Council of Ternopil State Medical University initiated on March 16, 2017 planting of 60 fruit trees on the grounds of Academic  and Recreation complex Chervona Kalyna. Rector of TSMU met with students

A traditional meeting of Ternopil State Medical University rector Professor Mykhaylo Korda with the student body took place on March 13, 2017. This was the day of TSMU student conference, when the doctors in training gathered to review the report of Student Council Audit Committee and approve its budget for next year. Dr. Korda outlined University proposal to improve academic environment and students’ living conditions. TSMU Choir continues its charitable work

We previously wrote that Ternopil State Medical University choir donated to several items Ternopil hospice, including 3 bedside toilets and 10 sets of bed linen. TSMU Students from India celebrated Holi, the festival of colors

Holi, or the festival of colors is a popular Hindu celebration in India. It is also celebrated in Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and other countries with the Indian diaspora. Ternopil State Medical University students organized a screening of films on medical topics

On March 10 TSMU students -members of Ternopil branch of the European Medical Students Association, at organized a Movie Fest, which took place at Palace Cinema. Ternopil State Medical University signed a cooperation agreement with Wyższa Szkoła Planowania Strategicznego in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland

On March 6, 2017 Vice Chancellor of the University of Strategic Planning in Dąbrowa Górnicza Roman Szopa met with Ternopil State Medical University rector Dr. Korda to discuss areas of cooperation.   This Polish institution of higher education has one of the largest in the country simulation training centers, used to train first responders and paramedics. University-wide volunteer movement Misericordia collected care package items for the troops

Charity work in Ternopil State Medical University has deep roots. Members of a local history group Terpoliany, Ukrainian and international students alike, have been taking part in charitable activities for quite some time. Recently leader of the group, associate professor Taras Kadobnyi with support of TSMU administration and deans organized a university-wide volunteer movement Misericordia. On March 3, 2017 head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Uliana Suprun came to Ternopil State Medical University for a working visit. On February 24, 2017 Ternopil State Medical University students members of European Medical Students’ Association met to discuss digestive disorders.   EMSA, a non-profit group,  is implementing projects and activities in the areas of medical education, medicine, medical ethics and culture, European integration, and healthcare. Ternopil State Medical University students organized a number of activities for the World Day of Immunity

First day of March is recognized as the World Day of Immunity. The reason this particular date was chosen is because early spring is known for exacerbating problems associated with weakened immune system. Since previous year Ternopil  city library has been implementing a rehabilitation project for police and military personnel using book and art therapy. Students of TSMU Preparation Department celebrated International Mother Language Day

Some events, such as International Mother Language Day, observed annually on 21 February, can unite people across the world. To observe this occasion, instructor of the preparation department for international students Larysa Nalizhyta held an open ethnography class. On February 23, 2017 Children’ Diabetes School Opened in Ternopil Regional Children’s Hospital. This is a joint project of the hospital and Ternopil State Medical University.
