TSMU students mastered the craft of Easter egg painting

On the eve of Easter holidays, Ternopil State Medical University staff, clinical residents, domestic and international students and students of the preparation department attended a master class on traditional Easter egg decoration. Young people from Ecuador, Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Portugal, Egypt and Palestine learned Ukrainian folk techniques for decorating Easter eggs. On March 30, 2018, the First Pediatric Ukrainian-Lithuanian School of Respiratory Diseases and the 22nd Vilnius International School of Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergology took place in Vinnytsia. Ternopil State Medical University students launched a new initiative Let’s Make the Life of Children Happier

On April 3, 2018, domestica and international students of Ternopil State Medical University launched a charity drive Let’s Make the Life of Children Happier. Its main goal is to bring more joyous moments to the lives of children who need our support and assistance.  The students are collecting donations to equip a rehabilitation room at the educational complex №28 for children with language defects, vision impairment and blindness, and developmental disabilities. TSMU opened a new gym facility

Recently Ternopil State Medical University opened a new modern gym in the dorm 1 located on 3 Zhyvova. It has now become even more convenient for medical students to take care of their health. The gym has high quality fitness equipment, including Inter Athletic Gym and Professional Line, as well as Fitex Cardiovascular equipment. Students of TSMU raised public awareness for the National Stop the Bleed Day

Ternopil State Medical University students and members of Ternopil Youth Branch of the National Board of Resuscitation, organized an educational activity for the National Stop the Bleed Day. Taking place in the shopping center Podoliany, the event focused on developing practical skills. In the last three years, first aid instructors, paramedics, firefighters, military have been offering free trainings to the public, emphasizing the importance of being able to stop bleeding. The International Medical Student Congress took place on March 21-23, 2018, at the University of Maltepe in Istanbul, Turkey. The main theme of the event was Multidisciplinary Approach in Medicine. More than 90 participants from around the world attended the event. Fourth-year student of Ternopil State Medical University Bohdan Haiuk gave a poster presentation. Bohdan Haiuk’s work is focused on the multidisciplinary approach to the management of patients with neuroendocrine tumors and heart damage (supervisor: assistant professor R.Komorovsky). On March 28, 2018, pupils from different cities of Ukraine gathered in Ivan Franko Ternopil Ukrainian Gymnasium to take part in a National Geography Olympiad. Students of the Ternopil State Medical University talked to the schoolchildren about their countries. To interest children and deepen their knowledge, the students prepared fascinating facts and creative performances. TSMU men’s volleyball team took third place in city-wide university competition

The men’s volleyball team of Ternopil State Medical University on March 26-28, 2018took part in the II Open Ternopil University Games. The competition was organized by the Department for Family, Youth Policy and Sports of Ternopil City Council and the Ternopil Regional Committee on Physical Education and Sport of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Members of the NGO Rare Immune Diseases and professors of TSMU Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery organized a meeting of Ternopil region patients with primary immunodeficiencies (PID) and their parents. Ternopil State Medical University continues cooperation with Ecuador

Rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda recently met with the president of the Fundacion EuroLatina (Ecuador) Maria Reyes and representative of the company in Ternopil Johanna Arguello. They discussed the ongoing cooperation to encourage students from Ecuador to come for study at TSMU.   Next year at least 30 students from Ecuador looking to get medical education will arrive to Ternopil. Students of TSMU organized events on dental health

For two weeks (February 27 to March 14), students of Ternopil State Medical University Faculty of Dentistry carried out a series of events within the project Clean Teeth Assure Good Health for the students of secondary schools 3 and 4. Each year in early spring, India celebrates the colorful festival of Holi, which is associated with the awakening of nature, bright blossoms of flowers and youth. On March 18, 2018 the Ukrainian-Indian Friendship club Sanskriti presented the Indian tradition of celebrating Holi in Ternopil State Medical University library. The event’s program featured classical Indian dances performed by the students of the Indian dance school Amrita, performances by TSMU Indian students and sprinkling with colors. 18th World Congress on Gynecological Endocrinology took place in Firenze Fiera Exhibition Center in Florence, Italy on March 7-10, 2018. This major scientific event has brought together prominent researchers and young scientists. Scholars and practitioners from more than 50 countries around the world presented their research.
