UAH 200,000 to Be Granted to Young Doctors Who Completed Internship at TNMU and Will Work in Villages and Frontline Territories

Ternopil National Medical University has become one of 20 state higher education institutions under the management of the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, whose internship graduates are eligible to receive a one-time state payment of UAH 200,000. The payment will be available starting in 2025. A mandatory condition is subsequent employment as doctors in rural areas and frontline territories.

This initiative of the Government of Ukraine will remain in effect until the end of martial law and is aimed at supporting young doctors who are just beginning their professional careers in medicine. Healthcare institutions in rural areas and frontline regions are in urgent need of specialists who can provide high-quality and timely medical care.

It is important to note that by October 10, a doctor must submit the following documents to the higher education institution where he or she completed the internship:

  • an application addressed to the rector (in free form);
  • a confirmation letter from the healthcare institution verifying compliance with the requirements of the Government Resolution;
  • copies of educational documents – diploma and certificate of professional qualification (only if these data are not available in the Unified State Electronic Education Database);
  • documents confirming employment – a copy of the employment record book (if available) or an extract from the Register of Insured Persons (via the Pension Fund);
  • a copy of the employment contract with the healthcare institution.

The documents can be submitted in person or by email to the official address of the higher education institution. The university reviews the documents, and upon approval, issues an order for the payment. The financial support is provided before the end of the budget year.
