I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is a leading higher medical education institution in Ukraine, which has been training highly qualified healthcare professionals for over 65 years.
Since its establishment, the University has trained more than 25,000 specialists in the fields of medicine and pharmacy, who work in Ukraine and in dozens of countries on all continents. Today, more than 7,000 students are studying here, including more than 5,000 citizens of Ukraine and more than 2,000 international students representing 60 countries.
About 700 experienced teachers, including more than 120 Doctors of Sciences and more than 500 Doctors of Philosophy, implement the teaching process at the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, International Students Faculty and in six Academic and Research Institutes The University has impressive material and technical resources that meet international standards for high quality specialists training.
Clinical facilities of the University are located in all medical and preventive institutions of Ternopil, as well as in the cities of Rivne and Zhytomyr. There are also dental department of the University Hospital and centres for primary health care.
One of the best training centres for medical simulationin Ukraine, which is equipped according to world standards, effectively functions at TNMU.
TNMU is one of the leading centres of medical research in the western region of Ukraine. Scientific research is carried out in priority directions in the fields of natural and medical sciences. The University is a participant in numerous international scientific projects implemented on a grant basis, including Erasmus Mundus Medea and Erasmus+, RECOOP, Polonez, Horizon-2020, cross-border cooperation programs Poland-Belarus-Ukraine, BUPAS and POLBUCAN.
The University publishes 12 scientific journals, which are included in the List of specialized publications of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It is home for 3 specialized scientific councils for the defence of doctoral theses.
For many years, the University has held leading positions in national and international rankings, including “Top-200 Ukraine”, Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics), «4 International Colleges & Universities», UniRank (University Ranking), Scimago Institutions Rankings.
TNMU is a member of the European University Association, the Great Charter of Universities, it cooperates with 94 foreign partners from 33 countries. Students and staff have the opportunity to do internships in leading educational medical institutions in Europe and America.
According to the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine, TNMU belongs to the category of higher educational institutions with the lowest risks, which proves the excellent level of educational services and internal education quality assurance.
