Ternopil State Medical University hosted a scientific conference on topical issues of simulation training

On February 1, 2017 Ternopil State Medical University held a teaching conference titled Topical issues of training students at the Center for simulation training: lessons and prospects. The conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the University. Participants discussed the problems of connecting simulation training with educational processes of TSMU clinical departments, the role of simulation training in acquiring practical skills, and the ICT utilized at the Center for simulation training.   Rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda opened the conference. Ternopil State Medical University is launching a double graduation program

On February 1, 2017 a delegation from Graduate School of Health Sciences Collegium Masoviense (Poland), met with TSMU rector Mykhaylo Korda to discuss directions for future collaboration. The main focus of the meeting was a joint program which will allow students enrolled on Bachelor’s and Master programs of TSMU Institute of nursing receive two diplomas, Ukrainian and European. TSMU choir preformed traditional Ukrainian carols for students and staff

For the second year in a row Ternopil State Medical University choir wished everyone happy New Year and Merry Christmas performing a concert of traditional carols. The choir includes lecturers and students, who rehearse for months leading to the winter holidays, and then visit TSMU and other organizations to sing and collect donations for charitable causes. The choristers began their rounds on 18 January. During TSMU Academic Council meeting which took place on 14 December, rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhaylo Korda recognized the best students of the university for their achievements in studies, research, athletics, arts, and charity work. TSMU expands research collaborations with Polish colleagues

From December 5 to 9, Ternopil State Medical University delegation visited University of Warsaw at the invitation of the administration of this. The delegation included TSMU rector, Professor Mykhaylo Korda and Vice-rector for Research Professor Ivan Klisch. They met with vice-rector of the Polish university, Professor Macei Duszczyk to discuss possibilities of future cooperation between the two universities. Ternopil State Medical University Students’ Conference took place on 27 September in the Convocations Hall of the administrative building. On  September 29 parentless TSMU students had an opportunity to talk to the rector Professor Mykhaylo Korda, as well as vice-rectors, deans and heads of departments. Simulation training center opened in Ternopil State Medical University

A meeting of the academic council of Ternopil State Medical University which took place on September 27 was also an occasion for the grand opening of the new simulation training center, located in  the 3 Chekhov building. Implementation of the simulation center project underscores the commitment of TSMU administration to brining the most advanced global technologies into the academic process, allowing students to gain practical medical experience. Meeting with a leading British neurosurgeon Henry Marsh in Ternopil State Medical University

On 21 September Professor Henry Marsh and his colleagues, neurosurgeon Andriy Myzak (Lviv, Ukraine) and Roman Zoltowski (Poznan, Poland) visited Ternopil State Medical University at the invitation of the university administration and Student Council. Dr. Marsh, CBE,  is a co-founder and senior neurosurgeon of the International Neurosurgery Center, a member of the Royal College of Neurosurgeons and the author of critically acclaimed memoir Do No Harm: Stories of Life, Death and Brain Surgery, which was translated into Ukrainian by Dr. Myzak.
