TSMU researchers attended an international conference in Poland

During June 21-24, five Ternopil State Medical University researchers (Liudmyla Vronska, Maria Shanaida, Yulia Plaskonis, Anastasia Dub and Olesia Lynda) participated in the 5th International Conference and Workshop «Plant – the source of research material», taking place in Lublin, Poland. The international conference was attended by more than 150 participants and lasted 4 days. The participants presented 12 plenary and 8 sectional reports, as well as more than 130 posters. International students joined a charity drive

Over 10 thousand hryvnas collected Polish students of Ternopil State Medical University. The money are earmarked for the treatment of 5 year-old Marichka Hvozdyska diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Dentistry students from Poland decided to help by collecting charity pledges form other students and Polish diaspora. University administration expresses its sincere gratitude to students Przemysław Żanko, Dajana Murmyło, Michał Lenartowicz, Karol Świątek, Jakub Janczarski, and Estera Błaszczyk for their efforts. On May 19-20, a delegation of Ternopil State Medical University participated in V International scientific conference “Lifestyle and civilization diseases ” in Janów Podlaski, Poland. On 16-27 May 2017, Wojciech Barg, professor of Wroclaw Medical University visited Ternopil State Medical University on academic exchange program ERASMUS+. Head of Ternopil State Medical University Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology Professor Oleksandra Oleschuk on 11-18 March 2017 visited Department of Clinical Pharmacology in Wroclaw Medical University, Poland within the framework of academic exchange program ERASMUS +. Department of Clinical Pharmacology of Wroclaw Medical University is located in a modern pharmaceutical building near the University Hospital. Ternopil State Medical University signed a cooperation agreement with Wyższa Szkoła Planowania Strategicznego in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland

On March 6, 2017 Vice Chancellor of the University of Strategic Planning in Dąbrowa Górnicza Roman Szopa met with Ternopil State Medical University rector Dr. Korda to discuss areas of cooperation.   This Polish institution of higher education has one of the largest in the country simulation training centers, used to train first responders and paramedics. University-wide volunteer movement Misericordia collected care package items for the troops

Charity work in Ternopil State Medical University has deep roots. Members of a local history group Terpoliany, Ukrainian and international students alike, have been taking part in charitable activities for quite some time. Recently leader of the group, associate professor Taras Kadobnyi with support of TSMU administration and deans organized a university-wide volunteer movement Misericordia. Ternopil State Medical University signed a cooperation agreement with the Center for Child Support (Poland)

On 9 February 2017, Renata Blecha, President of the Center for Child Support (Fundacja pomocu dzeciam) in Żywiec, Poland met with rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda to discuss areas of cooperation. Center for Child Support is one of the largest and best-equipped facilities in Poland and Europe. It employs over 80 experienced professionals (speech therapists, developmental-delay therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitators, psychologists, etc.) that assist 300 children with special needs. Ternopil State Medical University students had practical clinical training in Poland

Fifth year students of the Faculty of Dentistry Anna Chykyta, Katheryna Mashkova, Valentyne Kuzminska and fourth year students Svitlana Perytiatko, Pavlo Ostrovskyi and Yurii Shanaida recently returned from a clinical training in Poland, where they spent two weeks improving their medical skills in Wrocław clinics. On February 1, 2017 a delegation from Graduate School of Health Sciences Collegium Masoviense (Poland), met with TSMU rector Mykhaylo Korda to discuss directions for future collaboration. Conference «Finansowanie rehabilitacji pulmonologicznej w oddziałach szpitalnych i ośrodkach dziennych, a zanieczyszczenie powietrza – krakowski smog» took place on January 27, 2017 in Krakow (Poland). The event was organized by the Provincial hospital of lung diseases and rehabilitation (Wojewódzki Szpital Chorób Płuc i Rehabilitacji) and in-patient hospital of salt mine «Wieliczka» (Uzdrowisko Kopalnia Soli „Wieliczka”). From December 5 to 9, Ternopil State Medical University delegation visited University of Warsaw at the invitation of the administration of this. The delegation included TSMU rector, Professor Mykhaylo Korda and Vice-rector for Research Professor Ivan Klisch. Ternopil State Medical University researchers won a grant for a project on primary immune deficiencies

Ternopil State Medical University has a long-term ongoing collaboration with Pope John II State School of Higher Education in Biała Podlaska (Państwowa Szkoła Wyższa im. Papieża Jana Pawła II w Białej Podlaskiej), Poland. Ternopil State Medical University students celebrated Independence Day of Poland

Quite a few young people from Poland pursue their medical education at Ternopil State Medical University. November 11 is an important date for the Poles, because it marks the day Poland has gained independence in 1928 after 123 years of occupation. This year on 11 November, students from Poland joined the celebrations of “Evenings Polonaise”, organized by the Moja Polska center in Bunkermuz.
